Solving the problem of old ducts that have been in use for more than 30 years
The goal of this project was to ease the deterioration of existing 154kV OF cables erected from Yeouido to Noryangjin, as well as to satisfy an increase in energy demand from neighboring areas. With the existing OF cables that have been in place for almost 30 years, removing them was not an option. Thus, Taihan created and employed new Triplex cables as well as new cable pulling equipment for directional changes to install new cables without destroying the existing cable lines. In addition to these new cables, Taihan quickly delivered and fitted cable accessories and equipment and materials, etc., and finished the project successfully after checking the freshly furnished cables for any anomalies.

Thanks to the cable pulling equipment for directional changes, Taihan was able to utilize the construction technology that does not require the use of a crane to discharge a cable wound on an enormous drum, but directs the wire to a manhole by adjusting the direction to match the cable's unwinding and the direction of progress of the road. The cable pulling equipment for directional changes and method of construction have been patented in Korea, the United States, and Australia, with a Singapore patent pending.
The EHV Triplex cable is made up of three-core cables. It is an XLPE cable that can boost power transmission efficiency by more than 20% while also being compatible with existing hume pipes and manhole size requirements. Thanks to these properties, the EHV Triplex cable provides excellent technological and economic value differentiated from other cables with the same specification.

Endeavors to win orders of new project by taking advantage of superior technologies
Taihan is also pursuing a pilot project from KEPCO's Seoul headquarters for the Wonnam-Mia stretch, which is expected to begin soon, by utilizing its superior technology and goods successfully deployed in the Yeouido-Noryangjin project. Furthermore, Taihan intends to apply its construction technology based on the cable pulling equipment for directional changes to HPFF Retrofit Project (United States) in order to gain a competitive advantage in securing orders in the United States.
