Taihan has developed joints for underground cables with KEPCO
Taihan Cable & Solution announced that, in collaboration with the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), it has developed joints for underground cables and successfully showcased this new product at a demonstration held at their Dangjin cable plant on the 18th.
The joints are accessories that interconnect cables. This new product drastically cuts down the expenses and time required for repairs in the event of a joint breakdown.
Previously, a failure of the joints would also damage the underground cable, requiring the replacement of both the joints and the cables. This process took over three days to repair. However, with the new product, only the joints need replacement, allowing normal operations to resume within a day.
