Trolley cables are for supplying electric power to trains and railroad vehicles and classified into trolley wires, messenger wires, dropper wires, etc.

- Trolley cable

- It directly contacts with the pantograph on the top of the railway vehicle and supplies electricity to the vehicle
- It has strong durability against vibration and abrasion caused by friction, which occurs by direct contact with the pantograph
- According to the cross-sectional shape, it is divided into rounded-type, grooved-type, and harddrawn cooper grooved-type
- Messenger wire

- It serves as an electrical passage while supporting the weight of the catenary. They guarantee excellent mechanical and electrical properties
- Messenger wire: Structurally, several strands of copper alloy wire are twisted in a concentric circle
- Dropper wire

- It connects the trolley wire and messenger wire mechanically and electrically
- It serves as an electrical passage while supporting the weight of the catenary. They guarantee excellent mechanical and electrical properties
- It is manufactured by twisting several strands of thin copper alloy wire, and has clamps at both ends to connect to trolley wire and messenger wire
